Legal theorists from Central and Eastern Europe will meet in Riga

The Annual Conference of the Central and Eastern European Network of Jurisprudence (CEENJ) entitled "Jurisprudence in Central and Eastern Europe: Work in Progress 2017" is organized by the University of Latvia Faculty of Law with the support of the leading law firms in Latvia – COBALT, Eversheds Sutherland Bitāns, FORT Legal – and Professor Kārlis Dišlers' Foundation.

CEENJ is an informal network of legal theorists from Central and Eastern Europe with a common goal to analyze and understand fundamental legal problems, theories and concepts that they may have in common. The Conference brings together academics and practitioners in the Central and Eastern European region interested in legal theory, sociology and legal philosophy in order to strengthen cooperation between the participants through exchange of experience and ideas thus strengthening the rule of law. The official language of the conference will be English.

For the second consecutive year, the conference will take place in the Baltics, this time moving north from Lithuania to arrive in Latvia. The conference will take place on September 15 – 16, 2017 in the premises of the Faculty of Law, University of Latvia situated in the very heart of Riga.
